In this jam-packed episode of HomeKit Insider, we review both the all-new SmartMi Air Purifier 2 and the Eve Motion 2, plus break down the top news stories for the week.
The news starts with the launch of the Sensibo AirQ controller. This new model can control any IR remote-supported AC unit while also measuring the air quality of your home — similar to the recent Ecobee Premium that acts as a smart thermostat.
We also saw AirVersa launch in Europe which is the first Thread-enabled air purifier. No word on when it will be making its way to the U.S. With the all the air-focused news, we also gave our full review of the new SmartMi 2 air purifier.
The recent beta of iOS 16 saw a minor change for HomeKit users with three new wallpapers added to the Home app. And as a follow-up from last week's episode, we discussed a new report that Google will also share home security recordings without a warrant to law enforcement. Apple, Arlo, Eufy, and others still require a warrant if they have access at all.
Finally, we review the Eve Motion 2 and revisit the Eve Button.
