Samsung S95B TV review, Sonos rumors, Netatmo lock, & more on HomeKit Insider

HomeKit Insider

On this week's episode of the HomeKit Insider podcast, your hosts review the Samsung S95B quantum dot OLED TV, discuss recent Sonos rumors, break down Ring's new encryption option, and more!

It was a busy week in the smart home world. During IFA 2022, Netatmo has confirmed that its previously-announced smart door lock with NFC capabilities will be launching in 2023. This lock will support HomeKit though there is no word if it will support Home Key as well.

The company has also released a white version of its outdoor camera. Features are the same including support for HomeKit Secure Video.

Ring has also announced that it will be rolling out an option to enable end-to-end encryption for users of its smart video doorbell. Though this is welcomed, users will lose features such as rich notifications in the process.

Amazon-owned Eero announced it was declaring its original routers as end-of-life. They will still be operational though they will no longer receive any security patches or feature updates.

Finally, we review Samsung's new quantum dot OLED S95B television. This TV doesn't support HomeKit but it does support AirPlay.
