ViewSonic shared a new 27-inch monitor during the Consumer Electronics Show that looks like a potential Studio Display alternative alongside some new portable displays and a 4K projector.
The 2023 CES is underway and ViewSonic has shared a preview of its upcoming monitor and projector lineup. The main attraction is a 27-inch OLED monitor, but the portable 16-inch OLED displays and 4K projector look promising too.
VX2722 4K OLED monitor
The VX2722 is a 27-inch 4K OLED monitor with 3840p x 2160p resolution. It runs at 540 nits of brightness with 100% of the P3 color gamut.
It can be connected via a USB-C port with 96W Power Delivery. There is also an HDMI 2.1 port and a DisplayPort port.
Pricing hasn't been revealed, but it will be available to purchase in Q4 2023. The given specs make it comparable to Apple's 27-inch Studio Display, though at a lower resolution.
VX16 and VP16 portable monitors
The VX16 is a 15.6-inch 4K OLED portable monitor with 3840p x 2160p resolution. It runs at 400 nits of brightness with 100% of the P3 color gamut.
There are two USB-C ports and a mini-HDMI port for connectivity. An adjustable kickstand in the rear holds the display up when in use.
The VX16 will be available in Q3 or Q4 of 2023.
The ColorPro VP16 is a similar portable monitor at 15.6 inches and 1080p resolution. It runs at 400 nits with 100% of the P3 color gamut.
It has the same ports as the VX16, with two USB-C and a micro-HDMI port.
The VP16 can be ordered now for $427.99 from ViewSonic.
X2-4K Short-Throw LED Projector
The X2-4K Short Throw LED Projector operates at 3840p x 2160p with 2,900 LED lumens of brightness. It uses a 0.69-0.83 short throw lens.\
This projector is designed for Xbox with a big-screen gaming experience in mind. Given that it has HDMI inputs, it can work with just about anything, though.
It will go on sale in Q2 for $1,599.99.
