On this week's episode of the Homekit Insider podcast, your hosts discuss Amazon's Matter implementation for iOS users, some new smart shade options, and break down a new sous vide machine from Breville.
Amazon fulfilled its promises from earlier this year by introducing support for Matter setup on iOS device. Additionally, it revealed support for Matter over Thread, enabling accessories like the Eve lineup to work on Amazon Echo devices.
Many of its devices have been updated to act as Matter hubs and the fourth-generation Echo will also act as a Thread border router, similar to HomePod mini.
This past week we saw Eve's MotionBlinds upgrade kit come available to order and SmartWings launched its own Thread-enabled smart shades.
We round out the episode talking about the new Joule Turbo sous vide stick, that the company claims can cook your food faster, and with less human intervention, than other models.
