Apple has rolled out the latest update to the beta program for iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6. Developers can now access the fifth beta version for testing purposes.
Developers in the program can obtain the latest builds by visiting the Apple Developer Center or updating their iPhone or iPad through the Settings app. Following that, public beta versions are usually released shortly after the developer versions, giving users the chance to participate through the Apple Beta Software Program.
The fourth developer betas for iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6 arrived on June 27, while the third were released on June 15.
The new beta build is number 20G5070a, replacing the fourth build, 20G5058d
At this time, there is no detailed information about the features and changes included in the latest betas. However systems, more information will become available as developers explore the builds.
AppleInsider and Apple strongly suggest users don't install beta operating systems or other beta software on "mission-critical" or primary devices, as there is the small chance of issues that could result in the loss of data. Testers should instead use secondary or non-essential hardware and ensure they have sufficient backups of their critical data at all times.
