Author Victor LaValle's "The Changeling" adult fairytale is to be an Apple TV+ series, which will premiere on September 8, 2023.

Commissioned in 2021, "The Changeling" is now an eight-part drama series. Its first three episodes will all debut on September 8, 2023, followed by weekly editions until October 13, 2023.

"[The series] is a fairytale for grown-ups," says Apple. "A horror story, a parenthood fable and a perilous odyssey through a New York City you didn't know existed."

It stars LaKeith Stanfield, with Clark Backo, Adina Porter, Samuel T. Herring, Alexis Louder, Jared Abrahamson and Malcolm Barrett.

"The Changeling" is based on LaValle's 2017 novel. It has been dramatized by showrunner Kelly Marcel, best known for "Venom" and "Saving Mr Banks."
