A new eight-episode "almost romantic" comedy about insomniacs called "Still Up" will stream on Apple TV+ from September 22, 2023.

Apple TV+ has a growing reputation for comedies, with high profile hits like "Ted Lasso" and more recently "Shrinking," plus long-running series such as the critically-praised "Trying." Now hoping to add to that list, and not the list of cancelled Apple comedies like "High Desert," comes "Still Up."

"[The show] is an almost romantic comedy set in the after-hours world of insomniac Danny (Roberts) and Lisa (Thomas) who have no secrets except their feelings for each other," says Apple in a statement. "Also starring in the ensemble cast are Blake Harrison, Lois Chimimba, Luke Fetherston and Rich Fulcher."

Steve Burge and Natalie Walter are co-creators and write the show together with Bryce Hart. Burge is best known in the US for "Seekers" but has also been a long-time writer on the UK's "Would I Lie to You" panel show.

Walter is a writer and actor who has starred in "I May Destroy You," and appeared in both "Doctor Who" and "Horrible Histories."

The first three episodes of "Still Up" will premiere on Friday, September 22, 2023. The remaining five editions will follow weekly.
