Second macOS Sonoma 14.3 developer beta now available for testing

macOS Sonoma

Last updated

Apple's second developer beta for macOS Sonoma 14.3 has been seeded for testing.

Developers participating in the test program can get the latest build by visiting the Apple Developer Center or by updating Macs running the beta to the newest edition. Public beta versions are usually available via the Apple Beta Software Program not long after the developer versions are released.

The second beta arrives after the first, which was introduced on December 12.

The second build of macOS Sonoma 14.3 is number 23D5043d, replacing the previous one, 23D5033f.

At this early stage in the beta process, Apple has yet to advise of what's new in the beta, and it's unclear if anything's actually been changed outside of the usual bug fixes and performance improvements.

Released alongside the Sonoma beta, are second release candidate betas for macOS Ventura 13.6.4 and macOS Monterey 12.7.3. Ventura has build number 22G507, and Monterey sports build 21H1009.

AppleInsider and Apple strongly suggest users don't install beta operating systems or other beta software on "mission-critical" or primary devices, as there is the small chance of issues that could result in the loss of data. Testers should instead use secondary or non-essential hardware and ensure they have sufficient backups of their critical data at all times.
