'Killers of the Flower Moon' lands single Golden Globe award for Apple

Nominees Lily Gladstone and Leonardo DiCaprio in 'Killers of the Flower Moon'

Despite securing 14 Golden Globe nominations ranging fro "Ted Lasso" to "Slow Horses", Apple TV+ only managed to win a solitary Golden Globe for its much-hyped Martin Scorses/Eric Roth epic, "Killers of the Flower Moon."

When the nominations were announced in December 2023, Apple's 14 nods were spread across 6 shows. Now all but "Killers of the Flower Moon" went home empty-handed.

For that film by Martin Scorsese and Eric Roth, the Golden Globes awarded Lily Gladstone with the title of Best Performance by a Female Actor — Motion Picture, Drama.

She beat Carey Mulligan, Sandra Huller, Annette Bening, Greta Lee, and Cailee Spaeny to the title. Her co-star Leonardo DiCaprio was nominated for the equivalent male award, but there was beaten by Cillian Murphy for "Oppenheimer."

The Golden Globes are among the awards seen as an indicator of how films may perform at the Oscars. The Academy Awards will announce their nominations on January 23, 2024, with the ceremony on March 10, 2024.

Apple TV+ was the first, and to date remains the only, streamer to win an Oscar. It won Best Picture for "CODA" in 2022.
