Fourth visionOS 1.1 developer beta lands with more fixes

visionOS

Last updated

Developers that own the Apple Vision Pro can now try out the fourth beta build, with even more fixes implemented.

The third visionOS beta was issued on February 20 and replaced the second from February 13. The first beta arrived on February 6.

The build for visionOS 1.1 is number 21O5203a, replacing the third, build number 21O5197a.

The first beta introduced MDM, Contact Key verification, and Passcode changes to Apple's newest operating system. The second beta added to StoreKit, SwiftUI, and fixed some bugs introduced in the first beta.

The third beta focused even more on bug fixes, including several user interface bugs and a Siri issue. The release notes for the update contained a large number of fixes and remaining issues.

Users require a registered Apple developer account to access the beta for visionOS, but it can be a free one rather than paid. Installation on the Apple Vision Pro hardware itself is quite straightforward.

How to install the visionOS beta on Apple Vision Pro

  1. Open Settings
  2. Select General.
  3. Enable Beta Updates
  4. Select visionOS Developer Beta.

Developers can also able to use the updated visionOS beta within Xcode, in its visionOS simulator.

There is currently no process to revert from a beta version of visionOS to a release version, unless you own a developer's strap. As such, we do not recommend use of the visionOS beta at this time.
