Ikea Matter hub, SwitchBot Lock Pro, & Mila air purifier on the HomeKit Insider podcast

After a lengthy delay, Ikea is finally adding Matter support to its Dirigera smart hub. It was initially expected a "few months" after launch in 2022 but instead it is arriving a quarter through 2024. It's initially rolling out for beta users if the Ikea app before expanding to all users.

Samsung is set to release its 2024 TV lineup which all include a SmartThings Matter hub and support for Apple AirPlay. Users who register on Samsung's site can save an additional $100 off.

Last week, iOS 17.4 was released, alongside the 17.4 update on HomePod and HomePod mini. This update changes how the default audio player is selected for podcasts and audiobooks aside from just music.

Freepower has announced a new in-counter option for its wireless charging platform. It's hidden under countertops and will automatically illuminate as you approach where it will charge your devices at up to 7.5W.

In other new product launch news, SwitchBot releases its new Lock Pro. While not native to Apple Home, it can be added by way of Matter if you have the SwitchBot Matter hub.

Finally, we go hands-on with the new Mila air purifier. Now supporting Apple Home, it has a clean look and multiple filter types based on your environment.
