iPhone 17 designs revealed in image backed by multiple leakers

Purported CAD renders showing the camera layout of all iPhone 17 models

Last updated

A new image purporting to show CAD renders of all iPhone 17 models has been leaked by one often unreliable leaker, but also now backed by many sources.

Following the leaked renders claiming to be of an iPhone 17 Pro Max in a MagSafe case, a new single image of the entire iPhone 17 lineup has now appeared. The image, said to be from CAD renders, fits with previous rumors concerning the camera systems on every model including the expected slim iPhone 17.

The leaked imagine appears to have originated with Majin Bu, who is generally better known for repeating the rumors of other leakers. He or she has lately been amplifying other rumors about the iPhone 17 range's rear camera layout, but this time it's other leakers who have been repeating Majin Bu.

Specifically, "Digital Chat Station" said (in translation) that "the appearance of the iPhone 17 CAD drawing is basically the same" as their sources report. Depending on the translation used, "Fixed Focus Digital" is less clear, but with Safari Translation it says that the "CAD drawing restoration is very good."

Fixed Focus Digital's comment may also address why areas of the CAD render are shown in red. This leaker believes that the red parts of the drawing show where the iPhone 17 Pro models will have a back that is partly aluminum, and partly glass.

This claim fits with the now often repeated rumor that the iPhone 17 Pro will switch to glass and aluminum instead of using titanium for its chassis. Other recent rumors say that the iPhone 17 Pro will add reverse charging, the ability for the iPhone to charge other devices.

The advent of triple camera iPhones brought us ugly.

If correct, these 17 series models are the new ugly. And they have an extra ration of ugly slapped on for good measure.

They'll go head to head with the new Xiaomi Leica

Ha! Yes, the 15 Ultra isn't a looker either but in the live photos you can see that when held in landscape position it's a kind of tribute to a compact point and shoot.

These iPhone renders would look great in Futurama. Maybe there's a Bender style antenna that pops out of the top to squeeze a little bit more out of the C1.

I like symmetry and I prefer this over the big square of previous iPhone models, going back to the iP12.

Also prefer the smaller 2 camera pill shape over the square or rectangle of the prior models too.

You make it symmetric or you make it sufficiently small as to minimize the asymmetry it introduces.

The red section in the iPP17 models indicate glass? I presume the iP17 and iP17air models have ceramic or glass backs for wireless charging, but they don’t have red sections, so it probably means something else.
