Announced on Thursday, Insta360's new Go Ultra camera delivers 4K video in a pocket-sized form factor with magnetic mounting features.

Insta360 has introduced the Go Ultra, a compact, hands-free camera. The direct descendant to the Insta360 Go 3, the Go Ultra has a few new tricks up its sleeve.

It weighs a scant 53 grams and is about the size — and shape — of a smartwatch. This means that you can throw it in your pocket and be ready to record at any time.

Go Ultra uses a 1/1.28-inch sensor which 221% larger than its predecessor. Insta360 has paired it with a 5nm AI chip for better image processing.

The camera includes an ambient light sensor that adjusts color balance and reduces flicker in varying lighting conditions. It also features PureVideo technology, which processes footage to reduce visual noise and improve low-light brightness.

Like its predecessor, it has a magnetic base, so you can easily stick it to signs, railings, doors — plenty of places to gain some pretty neat shots. If you want to wear it, just pair it with the magnetic clip or magnetic pendant.

The Go Ultra comes with the an Action Pod, a grippable housing that boasts a a 2.5-inch flip touchscreen. This is also the way the camera charges, meaning that you can charge on the go without needing to bring external batteries.

Battery life is rated for 70 minutes when used alone or up to 200 minutes with the Action Pod. Fast charging brings the camera to 80% in 12 minutes.

But the Action Pod isn't just for charging the Go Ultra — it's also a remote control for the camera. This is ideal for triggering timelapse, starlapse, and low-light image capturing.

The Go Ultra features an IPX8 waterproof rating. It's considered waterproof up to 33 feet.

Storage options are a little different this time around, too. It supports removable microSD cards with up to 2TB of storage.

The free Insta360 app, available for both iOS and Android, offers editing tools for adding effects, transitions, and music. An Auto Edit mode can compile highlights into a ready-to-share video in seconds.

Cyclists can overlay GPS, heart rate, and speed data from Strava or other devices onto their videos. The AI Family Moments feature automatically gathers clips into a virtual album.

The Insta360 Go Ultra is available starting on August 21, 2025 for $449.99. You can pick one up from the Insta360 Store, Amazon, and select global retailers.
