The iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro will receive a software update that resolves an apparent camera-related issue, Apple has confirmed.
Though the iPhone 17 range is set to launch on September 19, early reviews of the iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro have already provided key insights about the devices' features and flaws.
Many praised the long battery life and vibrant color options of the iPhone 17 Pro, and highlighted the ultra-thin design of the iPhone Air. Still, one such review outlined a camera-related issue present with Apple's 2025 iPhone lineup.
As MacRumors notes, Henry Casey's CNN Underscored iPhone Air review recounted a problem while taking photos at a concert. It appears an LED board interfered with the iPhone camera, causing visual glitches.

Casey explained that "small blacked-out portions" along with "boxes and parts of white squiggles" appeared in every tenth photo taken with the iPhone Air.
Apple says this type of problem can occur in "very rare cases when an LED light display is extremely bright and shining directly into the camera." The iPhone maker is already working on a software update to resolve the issue, though no release date was provided.
The iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro arrive in store and ship to customers on Friday. Apple could release a day-in-date minor point update to fix the flaw before it's a wider issue.
