Apple could be gearing up to release something called Apple Creator Studio, but whether it's a subscription, an app bundle, or a rename of Pixelmator Pro is unknown.
Apple released iOS 26.2 beta 1 on Tuesday, and code sleuths have been diving through it to find potential references to future releases. While Apple's developers usually do a good job of hiding everything we're not meant to see before a beta is published, some things still slip through.
Code sleuth Aaron, known as @aaronp613 on X, shared that there's a reference to Apple Creator Studio in the iOS 26.2 beta. There aren't any other details about the reference, nor where it was found in the code, so it is difficult to ascertain what it could mean.
There are already plenty of theories circling around, and any of them are plausible. A single subscription plan to access all of Apple's pro apps could be referred to as Apple Creator Studio, for example.
The name could be a rebrand of Pixelmator apps, which Apple purchased in 2024. However, that seems less likely since references of an iPad version of Pixelmator Pro have already been found.
Those discovered App Store IDs also referenced iPad versions of Motion, Compressor, and MainStage. Apple already offers Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro on iPad, but both require individual subscriptions of either $4.99 per month or $49 per year.
Apple could be seeking to compete with offerings from companies like Adobe, which brings Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Acrobat Pro, InDesign, and 20 other apps under one umbrella subscription for $69.99 per month. There's no telling what apps Apple might include in an Apple Creator Studio subscription or how much it might cost, but that's the most likely theory going around.
Services revenue has become increasingly important to Apple in the past decade, and a high-end suite of professional first-party apps in a single bundle could prove quite lucrative. The move would also make sense if all of Apple's pro apps are going multi-platform soon.
Pixelmator Pro, Logic Pro, and Final Cut Pro in one subscription plan could be killer depending on your needs. However, Apple may find competing across platforms difficult when other options, like the Affinity suite, are either free or can be purchased cheaply.
Whatever Apple Creator Studio might be, we could hear about it before the public launch of iOS 26.2, which will likely arrive sometime in December. Or, it could be a random reference to something that isn't coming anytime soon. Only time will tell.
