After its last successful crowdfunding campaign, BirdBuddy is back at CES to show off its latest generation of smart bird feeders with the BirdBuddy 2 mini.

These smart feeders have a 2K camera and slow-motion support that records whenever a bird is detected. The AI built into the companion app is able to help you identify the bird, as well as relevant information about the species.

"BirdBuddy started with a simple idea: help people notice and appreciate the nature already around them," said Franci Zidar, CEO and Co-Founder of BirdBuddy. "With BirdBuddy 2 and BirdBuddy 2 Mini, we've reimagined our smart bird feeder from the ground up - making it more intuitive, more flexible, and more accessible - while continuing to build an ecosystem that lets people connect more deeply with wildlife in their everyday lives."

BirdBuddy 2 was previewed in mid-2025, but before that ships, BirdBuddy is showing off its new, smaller sibling. It's the BirdBuddy 2 Mini and packs the same camera and AI features as the flagship feeder.

The new BirdBuddy 2 Mini has a smaller form factor with a smaller seed capacity for tight spaces. There are options for add-ons like a solar panel or perch extender.

BirdBuddy was also showing off its Wonder Blocks and Petal camera, both of which were first announced at CES 2025. They raised nearly $ 2.5 million on Kickstarter with shipping starting later in 2026.

While the BirdBuddy 2 is priced at $189, the BirdBuddy 2 Mini will cost $129 with preorders beginning mid-2026. Shipping will begin in late 2026.
