Two Intel-based NAS systems, the NASync iDX6011 and iDX6011 Pro, were unveiled by Ugreen at CES 2026, bringing local AI features and faster networking to the company's NAS lineup.

Ugreen's new models expand the NASync lineup with higher-capacity storage and faster networking options. Both systems also introduce on-device AI capabilities designed to run locally rather than relying on cloud services.

For Apple users, this class of NAS hardware offers private, high-speed storage that integrates with Macs without requiring subscription-based cloud platforms.

Local AI without cloud dependence

Ugreen says the iDX series runs its AI features entirely on the device, avoiding uploads to third-party servers. The company highlights tools such as natural-language file search, offline document summarization, photo recognition, voice transcription, and automated file organization.

Mac users with large photo libraries, video projects, or research archives may benefit from local processing, which can reduce bandwidth use and limit exposure of personal data compared to cloud-based alternatives.

Both models use Intel Core Ultra processors and support up to 196TB of storage. Dual 10GbE Ethernet ports allow for link aggregation with speeds of up to 20Gbps.

The iDX6011 Pro adds an OcuLink port for external GPU or high-speed expansion, a feature aimed more at studios and mixed-platform environments than typical home setups.

How it fits into Apple-centric setups

The systems are designed to operate as network-attached storage rather than direct-attached devices. They support standard file-sharing protocols and are compatible with macOS.

Performance will vary based on your network configuration.

Performance will vary depending on network configuration. Apple Silicon Macs will not directly benefit from Intel-specific acceleration features, since those apply only to processing on the NAS itself.

Apple does not sell its own NAS hardware, leaving third-party vendors such as Ugreen to provide options for Time Machine backups, media servers, and shared storage.

We've spoken to uGreen, and a review unit will be sent to us. We were mostly impressed by the company's hardware at launch, and the software has come a long way.

Pricing and availability

Ugreen says preorders for the iDX6011 and iDX6011 Pro open immediately through its website. Pricing starts at $999 for the iDX6011 and $1,599 for the iDX6011 Pro, ahead of a Kickstarter campaign planned for March.
