Apple has introduced its new special-edition Black Unity Apple Watch Band, marking the upcoming annual Black History Month.
Each year, Apple honors Black History Month by releasing a new Apple Watch band for the occasion. Ahead of the month itself, Apple has opened up sales of its 2026 effort.
The new Apple Watch Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop was designed by Black creatives and allies at Apple. Continuing the theme for the band series, it uses the colors of the Pan-African flag, with multiple shades of red, green, and black used throughout.
It's produced by weaving polyester yarn filaments around thin silicone threads in a precision braid. The result is a soft and textured band, that is also sweat and water-resistant.
Celebrating the power of connection, Apple used the launch to promote its support of organizations that "inspire connection and promote creativity through impactful programs in under-resourced communities around the world."
This support includes a set of new grants to a number of organizations:
- Boys & Girls Clubs of America
- Urban Arts in New York City
- Youth Music in London
- Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney
- Enactus Mexico in Mexico City
The grants, according to Apple, build upon its commitment to advancing economic, educational, and creative opportunities for communities worldwide.
The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop is available for 42mm and 46mm case sizes, in band sizes from 0-12. It is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 4 or later, the Apple Watch SE, and all Apple Watch Ultra models.
It is priced at $99 in the United States, and will be available to order from the online Apple Store and the Apple Store app from today, with in-store availability later in the week.
