Apple has partnered with the world's biggest marathon as part of a push to encourage ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary goals.
On April 26, athletes from all over the world will gather to participate in the 2026 TCS London Marathon. This year, Apple has been honored as the Official Performance Technology Partner.
"The London Marathon is one of the world's greatest sporting events and a powerful celebration of the global running community," Jay Blahnik, Apple's vice president of Fitness Technologies, said in the announcement.
"Apple's technologies support runners at every level with powerful tools and insights that help them stay motivated, track their progress, and better understand their health and fitness. We couldn't be more excited to be a partner of the 2026 TCS London Marathon."
Still, Apple has long supported the idea of people getting out and getting active. The Apple Watch is a prime example of the company's tech-forward approach to health, encouraging users to close their rings every day.
In 2024, a study run by the American Heart Association and Brigham and Women's Hospital, examined how Apple Watch wearers prepare for marathons.
More than 1.1 million runners have applied for a spot in the 2026 TCS London Marathon. That's a staggering 36% more than the previous year — though it's not clear how many have been accepted.
This year's marathon supports the Marie Curie charity. Marie Curie provides hospice care and support for those under hospice care and those close to them.
