On this week's episode of the Smart Home Insider podcast, Pawport CEO Martin Diamond stops by to talk about the news of the week, and how intelligent pet doors can be integrated into the smart home.

Our guest host this week is Martin Diamond, founder and CEO of Pawport. Born out of necessity, Pawport is a secure and durable dog door that can help you let your four-legged friends in and out of your house.

Pawport can be mounted in a door, in a wall, or even a sheet of glass. The door can be scheduled, controlled through the Pawport app, or triggered via dog-worn sensors.

Currently, users can also control the door and turn the light on or off through Siri Shortcuts. During our interview, we also talk about future versions and how it could be integrated into Matter and Apple Home.

Prior to the interview, we jump into the news for the week. We kick it off with a summary of the new features coming in tvOS 26.4.

Also in the news, Apple's head of smart home has departed. He has jumped ship to Oura, maker of one of the most popular smart rings on the market.

Matic has finally added support for Matter. This brings one of the most unique and powerful robot vacuums into both Apple Home and Google Home, with Amazon Alexa coming soon.

Finally, Aqara has launched several new products — the G350 camera, touchscreen switch S100, and G400 wired video doorbell. The camera carries the honor of being the very first camera to support Matter.
