Although two of Apple's Maryland retail locations are currently out of commission, one of them will reopen this Saturday, Aug. 20, according to the company's website.
The Apple Annapolis store will reopen in a different part of the Westfield Annapolis mall — specifically, 1735 Annapolis Mall Road — at 10 a.m. local time. Operating hours will run until 9:30 p.m. most days, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
In the city of Bethesda, the Montgomery Mall location has been closed for renovations since July 17. Store Reporter noted that construction began several months later than intended, but that the upgrade should be finished in November and give Apple almost twice the room it had before, eating into two neighboring spaces.
Renovating or relocating locations has become an important task for the company, since it's not only outgrowing some of its older real estate but looking to rebrand it with a new fashion-oriented aesthetic. Some outlets, like Union Square in San Francisco, even have areas purpose-built for special events.
Recently the company started dropping the term "Store" from its marketing, presumably trying to boost the impression that its retail chain is about more than just shopping.

Yeah, "Relocated Annapolis Apple to open on Saturday…" just reads so "different"!
Montgomery Mall is a lot more upscale than I remember as a kid. Wish we had a Tesla dealership.
Been to that Montgomery Mall location many times and it was always crowded. It wasn't a small "store" before, now going to be dang big. There's a Microsift store on the 1st floor. Wonder if they'll need to expand? ;)
