Apple will soon be adding another application to their "i" line of digital media editing products that will fall alongside iMovie, iDVD, and iTunes.
The new product, iPhoto, will continue to expand on Apple's goal of transitioning to a greater software company instead of a purely hardware based operation. This, in turn, allows the computer maker to more effectively market Macintosh PCs as there are more readily available predefined solutions for industry professionals. Solutions that are built from the ground up, for the Macintosh Operating System.
Said to be based on core Apple technologies such as QuickTime and ColorSync, iPhoto will interface seamlessly with the company's FireWire In/Out technology, allowing the application to instantly rip and process images from many of the latest professional digital cameras, sources said.
According to sources, iPhoto, along with a second Apple-branded digital image solution called "Studio in a Bag," will present an Apple scriptable workflow environment that incorporates ColorSync technology to easily process photos with color clarity for digital media or print.
A sneak preview of both new Apple software products is scheduled during an Apple sponsored Digital Workflow For Photographers Seminar to be held in New York city this Friday.
