MLB brings RBI Baseball back with iOS app, Cyber Dust aims to be Snapchat for texts

iPhone and iPad owners have new options for fun and communication after Major League Baseball released R.B.I. Baseball for Apple's mobile devices and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban brought his Snapchat-like test messaging service out of beta.

RBI Baseball

R.B.I. Baseball 14 lets players compete with any of the 30 Major League Baseball teams. The game also features all 480 current MLB players.

An entire 9-inning game can be played in under 20 minutes, and just two buttons are used to control the action. Players can choose from Season, Postseason, or Exhibition modes, with special retro jerseys that can be unlocked by completing season challenges.

R.B.I. Baseball 14 version 1.0.0 is available now as a $4.99, 267-megabyte download from the App Store. The game is compatible with iPad 3 and higher, iPhone 4S and higher, and the fifth-generation iPod Touch.

Cyber Dust

Cyber Dust, backed by internet billionaire and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, aims to be for text messages what Snapchat is for picture messaging. Messages are automatically deleted after 30 seconds, and the company says that they are never stored anywhere, even on intermediary servers.

Messages are fully encrypted, and Cyber Dust offers live support for free directly within the app. Cyber Dust also provides screenshot detection, notifying users when the receiving party has taken a snapshot of their message.

Users can already send photos and stickers in messages, and the company says video support is coming soon.

Cyber Dust version 2.1 is available now as a free, 24.1-megabyte download from the App Store.
