Apple Watch now on sale at B&H Photo retail, online stores

Last updated

As part of an aggressive and diverse rollout campaign, Apple on Tuesday extended sales of Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport to New York-based electronics superstore B&H Photo, which currently has models in stock ready to ship.

With Apple Watch sales now live, B&H has 20 configurations in stock, including 38- and 42-millimeter gold and rose gold Apple Watch Sport versions. Customers can visit the superstore in person or buy through the B&H Photo app, which was recently updated to accept Apple Pay.

Along with Apple Watch Sport, the store is selling multiple stainless steel Apple Watch SKUs, though it appears current stock is limited to Sport Band and Milanese Loop strap pairings. The Space Black stainless model, previously limited to an expensive link bracelet package, is also in stock with black Sport Bands, though the 38mm version is currently sold out. Like other third-party resellers, B&H is not stocking solid gold Apple Watch Edition models.

Today's availability comes after Apple expanded Watch sales to U.S. and Canadian Best Buy locations in August, as well as shops run by cellular carriers T-Mobile and Sprint. International availability has also been boosted, with retail chains in Australia, France, Germany, and the U.K. now carrying stock. Big box retailer and longtime Apple reseller Target recently announced it, too, would have Watch up for sale by Oct. 25.

Apple's efforts to push Watch out to third party retail channels are impressive considering its own brick-and-mortar stores only began selling the device in June. Previously, customers interested in making a purchase were limited to Apple's online storefront or a handful of small fashion boutiques shops in Berlin, London, Los Angeles, Milan, Paris and Tokyo.
