iPad Air 2 & iPad mini 4 join T-Mobile's Jump On Demand upgrade program

T-Mobile USA on Wednesday announced that the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4 are now available through its Jump On Demand program, which lets people get a device on an 18-month lease and upgrade up to three times a year.

Monthly and upfront fees vary depending on the device and amount of storage. A 16-gigabyte iPad mini 4 is $22 a month with no down payment, for example. A 64-gigabyte model is $21 a month, but costs $100 upfront, and choosing 128 gigabytes makes those payments $19 per month and $200, respectively.

For the iPad Air 2, the same down payment schemes apply to 64- and 128-gigabyte models. Monthly payments otherwise range between $24 and $26.

T-Mobile noted that the prices are "limited time offers," and don't include taxes and other fees. At the end of a lease, customers must either return the device or pay it off, if they don't intend to continue in Jump On Demand.

The company didn't mention whether the iPad Pro, launching next month, might also be eligible. It did add that the program lets people "upgrade to a higher memory model, color or different iPad all together."
