Apple's latest 2018 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pros with Touch Bar pack an abundance of upgrades, including new processors and True Tone displays, making this an excellent time to pick up a system with updated components. Apple authorized resellers are currently taking pre-orders for the 2018 laptops with 8th-generation Intel quad-core or 6-core processors — and many retailers will not collect sales tax in most states, potentially saving customers $140 to $535 on average compared to ordering from Apple. 2018 13-inch MacBook Pros with Touch Bar
The 2018 release of Apple's 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar saw many updates, including new Intel 8th-generation CPUs. Shoppers can select between 2.3GHz and 2.7GHz quad-core chips with either 8GB or 16GB of 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory. New for 2018, users can also select configurations with up to 2TB of SSD storage, great for students and business users. The 13.3-inch Retina display also features True Tone technology (for a look on why that matters, see here).
While the retail starting price of the standard 2018 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar remains unchanged from 2017, there are ways to save on the new models. By shopping at an Apple authorized reseller, such as B&H Photo or Adorama, you may be able to take advantage of sales tax incentives as the retailers only collect sales tax on orders shipped to New York and New Jersey (Colorado and Vermont residents, see here). 2018 15-inch MacBook Pros
Apple's latest 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops are equipped with Intel 8th-generation 6-core chips with speeds ranging from 2.2GHz all the way up to 2.9GHz, depending on the model selected. Users can also select between 16GB and 32GB of 2400MHz DDR4 memory and Radeon Pro 555X or 560X graphics, with both graphics cards having 4GB of GDDR5 memory. Other improvements include Bluetooth 5.0 support, a quieter keyboard and a Retina display with True Tone technology. Prices start at $2,399.00 for the 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro — however, Apple authorized resellers B&H Photo and Adorama will not collect sales tax on orders shipped outside New York and New Jersey (Colorado and Vermont residents, see here).
