Tim Cook's continuing Davos meetings include leaders of Austria, Italy & Dubai

Apple CEO Tim Cook is apparently meeting with a host of world leaders during his visit to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

One of these is Dubai's Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, who said that he spoke with Cook "on the sidelines" about "the latest advancements of global firms in the region." Apple has a more significant presence in the U.A.E. than in most Arab countries, including three stores — two in Dubai, one in Abu Dhabi.

On Thursday Cook met with 32-year-old Austrian chancellor Sebastian Kurz, who called it "a unique opportunity to learn about the philosophy behind one of the world's most iconic brands, and a good conversation on how we can successfully shape Europe's digital future."

At some point this week Cook is due to meet with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, according to CNBC, citing the Financial Times.

Earlier meetings included the likes of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and a dinner with several prominent leaders, most controversially Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. Bolsonaro has defended torture and the former military dictatorships of Brazil and Chile, even arguing they should have killed more people. He has also expressed violently anti-gay positions in the past, only moderating them in the path to the presidency. Cook is one of the few openly gay CEOs of a major corporation.
