Apple will be opening up pre-orders for the Powerbeats Pro from May 3, allowing consumers the first opportunity to purchase Beats' take on the AirPods wireless earphones concept ahead of its shipping date on May 10.
Introduced on April 3, preorders for the Beats Powerbeats Pro are expected to commence exactly one month later on May 3, one week ahead of its anticipated release. Preorders will commence in the United States and Canada at 7 a.m. Pacific, 10 a.m. Eastern on the Apple website, and will be available to buy in stores from May 10.
The Powerbeats Pro are effectively Beats' version of the AirPods, but made with a more active lifestyle in mind. The design features a hook that clips around the ear, keeping them firmly in place while users are working out or performing intensive activities that could easily launch AirPods out of the ears.
Offering sweat and water resistance, the earbuds use the same H1 chip as the AirPods, have their own recharging case, and support "Hey Siri" vocal prompts. Battery life is claimed to be up to nine hours per earbud, up to 24 when combined with the case's battery, while its "Fast Fuel" recharging providing up to an hour and a half of usage after just five minutes of charging, or up to 4.5 hours after 15 minutes of charging.
Initially offered in Black, with Ivory, Moss, and Navy options due this summer, the Beats Powerbeats Pro will cost $249.99. Shortly after release in the United States and Canada, it will go on sale in another 18 countries, with more markets due in the summer and fall.

I wonder when the other colors will be released? I hope summer means June!
They should offer an optional wireless charging case. People will have to resort to put one of those recharge coils underneath their cases that they sell on Amazon and eBay.
Heaven help me if I am ever so active that I need something more than AirPods. 😆
