Hulu on Wednesday made good on promises to update its Live Guide, an interactive listing of live television shows, on tvOS, Hulu.com and Roku devices.
Rolling out to Apple TV owners today, the new Live Guide allows viewers to browse and watch live TV, as well as search for shows up to two weeks in advance. A tweaked grid guide provides an interactive experience for viewing upcoming programming, recording content and switching between live channels.
Similar to certain cable boxes, a "My Channels" tool lets users save favorite channels for quick access from Hulu's Home screen and within the Live Guide.
Using backend curation technology, Hulu's Live Guide also offers up recommended TV shows and movies airing live. Like My Channels, suggested live TV is available directly from Home.
Finally, the refreshed interface enables easy category-based browsing. Called content collections, users can switch to live sports, news, movies and kids content or browse those same categories to find upcoming programming.
Hulu's last major upgrade to live TV viewing on Apple platforms arrived more than a year ago when the company released the dynamic Live Guide for iOS. At the time, Hulu touted the user interface for its easy-to-use design and ability to look ahead 24 hours in advance. The service's mobile app has yet to gain access to the revamped Live Guide.
Hulu first announced the Live Guide redesign in January.

Hoping for a Disney+ Hulu TV package beyond the Disney+ Hulu with commercials advertised package.
Hulu TV not having IFC, Sundance or BBC America is a deal killer for me.
