Apple on Tuesday publicized a new Apple Pay promotion that allows users to earn a free drink at fast food chain Jimmy John's.
Apple Pay users who spend $10 or more when they order ahead through the Jimmy John's app are eligible to receive a credit for a free drink on an associated Freaky Fast Rewards account. The deal arrives as an increasing number of people place takeout orders due to coronavirus restrictions on local businesses.
In addition to in-app ordering, the promo offer applies to customers checking out with Apple Pay through JimmyJohns.com and at participating stores. The reward period runs through Sept. 27.
A Freaky Fast Rewards account is required to redeem the free drink, with one reward available per account.
Apple routinely runs promotional campaigns to boost adoption of Apple Pay, now a major player in the digital and mobile payments space. This summer brought a spate of deals to users of the payments service, though things have slowed down considerably over the past few weeks.
In July, Apple Pay customers were treated to a deal that took 50% off Snapfish orders.

Can't believe Apple is in cahoots with this world-class jerk - Jimmy John, a name that will live in infamy: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/jimmy-john-liautaud-hunting-photos/
Oh great! The closest Jimmy John’s to me is only 52 miles away and a one hour and 13 minute drive! Considering I’ve never eaten there, have to join the rewards program and the promo ends in 5 days this may not be for me. LOL.
Yea, I would never eat at a Jimmy John's. I don't think Apple is in "cahoots" with them. Apple Pay is a service, and they are trying to grow that business and incorporate rewards and loyalty deals in the mix. It's not like they went to Jimmy John's. I'm sure it was probably the other way around, and Apple can't discriminate against a particular business even one owned by evil Jimmy John.
Yeah, I would wager this promo is being run by Goldman Sachs, not Apple. That said, probably worth dropping a line to Tim about it (not this specific promo, but that Apple needs to monitor what partners GS works with on these promos).
