Ahead of preorder availability on Friday, Apple is now offering iPhone Upgrade Program pre-approvals for the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
New and existing members of the iPhone Upgrade Program can start the pre-approval process through the Apple Store app for iOS. The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max become available for preorder at 5 a.m. Pacific Time (8 a.m. Eastern) on Friday, Nov. 6.
Ahead of that date, users can apply for pre-approval in the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max sections of the app's main page. They can also check program eligibility via a pop-up on the For You tab.
Pre-approvals allow iPhone Upgrade Program members to set their device and configuration preferences early on Friday. The process could save buyers precious minutes — which could mean the difference between getting a new iPhone on launch day or a delayed delivery date.
Users have until 9 p.m. Pacific on Nov. 5 to get pre-approved. Pricing starts at $29.12 per month for the iPhone 12 mini and $45.79 per month for the iPhone 12 Pro Max. AppleCare+ is included in both prices.
Both iPhone models are slated to begin arriving on store shelves and customer doorsteps on Friday, Nov. 13.
