Want to stick with Intel for a while longer? AppleInsider readers can save $300 on the quad-core Core i5 13-inch MacBook Pro with an early Black Friday discount that makes it cheaper than the new M1-equipped model.
Intel 13-inch MacBook Pro deal
Update on Nov. 25: B&H has gone one step further, now knocking $300 off the Intel MacBook Pro 13-inch, dropping the price to $1,199.
Sticking with Intel instead of moving to M1 has some benefits at the early stage of Apple's transition, such as knowing that all of the apps you want to use will work, something that will take time to happen for the new model. There are other benefits as well, such as being able to run Windows or to use two external displays instead of just one.
A promotion from B&H is offering the 13-inch MacBook Pro at $150 off (now $300 off) the normal starting price, bringing the 1.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 model with 16GB of memory and 256GB of storage down to $1,349 (now $1,199). This model, which has become sold out through many other retailers, also works out to be $72 cheaper than the equivalent-specification M1 MacBook Pro.
The discount is only provided via AppleInsider using the special pricing links in this post, or via our Intel 13-inch MacBook Pro Price Guide, using a notebook or desktop computer, not mobile devices. The offer is available on the Silver color option, and has free expedited shipping for orders shipped within the contiguous U.S, so you might even get it before Black Friday itself!
