The eight-episode Apple TV+ thriller stars Emmy Award winner Elisabeth Moss, "Hamilton" star Phillipa Soo, "Judging Amy" star Amy Brenneman, and "Narcos" star Wagner Moura.

The series will air its first three episodes on Friday, April 29, with a new episode airing the following five Fridays. Apple had signed an order for the series in June 2020.

"Shining Girls" is a metaphysical thriller based on Lauren Beukes' 2013 best-selling novel. Elisabeth Moss ("The West Wing," "Mad Men,") stars as a Chicago reporter who survived a brutal assault and later finds her reality shifting as she hunts down her assailant.

Apple also released a minute-long first look to the Apple TV YouTube channel.

Apple cast Wagner Moura, known for his turn as Pablo Escobar in Netflix series "Narcos," to star opposite of Elisabeth Moss in February 2021.

In July 2021, it was learned that Emmy Award nominee Phillipa Soo, best known for her work in "Hamilton," was added to the series' cast.

The tech giant also added Amy Brenneman, known for her work in "Judging Amy" and "Tell Me Your Secrets," to the cast in August.

The series will join thrillers on the service including espionage thriller "Tehran," and neo-noir thriller "Losing Alice."
