Eve Matter Devices, Next Gen CarPlay, & ESR MagSafe Chargers on HomeKit Insider

On this Christmas episode of the HomeKit Insider podcast, your hosts talk about the latest Matter device from Eve, break down new Sonos rumors, and go hands-on with new MagSafe chargers.

Sonos has decided to lean into the litany of rumors that have continued to emerge surrounding its 2024 pipeline. The company is now touting a new landing page where users can "hear it from the source" regarding new announcements.

We've heard Sonos is working on a new set of over-the-ear headphones, a successor to the Roam, a new high-end soundbar, and even a streaming set top box.

For the China-based users, Aqara has three new ceiling lights hitting the market, all compatible with Apple Home. The new lights are two circular lights in different sizes and a large rectangle version.

Guest co-host Dan Turk goes deep with Andrew on the whole CarPlay saga, including the launch of two new next-gen models and the continuing embarrassment coming from GM.

Finally, we break down the new Matter devices coming from Eve. We have an out-of-the box Matter light switch, a new set of blinds, and an in-wall outlet.

The remainder of the episode goes into the world of tech PR and how agencies plan their announcements.

We end the episode by going hands-on with some MagSafe-enabled chargers from ESR.
