The smart home Mui Board 2 with Matter support was shown off at CES 2023, but it is finally ready to begin crowdfunding via Kickstarter on Monday.
Mui Board 2 looks like a piece of wood trimming or a shelf, but when it is tapped it lights up with touch controls for various smart home products. Since it has Matter support, any Matter-compatible product can be controlled from the product including those with HomeKit.
The test exhibit at CES let users tap lights to control a demo unit and a thermostat. The board acts as a miniature dot matrix display that show pixelated images.
The display shows data like the weather and time, but it can also pull information from thermostats and other sensors. A timer for dimming lights can be set from the controller as well.
Pricing and availability will be revealed with the Kickstarter launch. The campaign goes live on January 8.
