Apple seeds third macOS Sonoma 14.3 developer beta

macOS Sonoma

Last updated

Apple has rolled out its third developer beta of macOS Sonoma 14.3, which can be installed onto Macs for testing.

Developers participating in the test program can get the latest build by visiting the Apple Developer Center or by updating Macs running the beta to the newest edition. Public beta versions are usually available via the Apple Beta Software Program not long after the developer versions are released.

The third beta arrives after the second, which Apple released on January 3, while the first was introduced on December 12.

The third build of macOS Sonoma 14.3 is number 23D5051b, replacing the previous one, 23D5043d.

Apple has yet to advise of what's new in the beta, and it's not entirely clear what has changed outside of the usual bug fixes and performance improvements.

Alongside the third Sonoma beta, are third release candidates of macOS Monterey 12.7.3 and macOS Ventura 13.6.4. The new Monterey build is 21H1013, with the new Ventura build coming in at 22G511.

AppleInsider and Apple strongly suggest users don't install beta operating systems or other beta software on "mission-critical" or primary devices, as there is the small chance of issues that could result in the loss of data. Testers should instead use secondary or non-essential hardware and ensure they have sufficient backups of their critical data at all times.

It is now 4:14 EST on the East Coast and the OTA update still hasn't shown up on any of my Apple Silicon Macs.  14.3 Beta 3, where are you?
