Code within the new iOS 18.2 beta suggests that Apple is planning to acknowledge the decade anniversary of the Apple Watch with a new activity achievement.
Apple did not release a major redesign of the Apple Watch to mark its ten-year anniversary — despite many rumors that it would. It may now, though, be planning at least a little acknowledgement to the Apple Watch's birthday in the form of health challenge.
Specifically, code within the newly-released iOS 18.2 developer beta, includes the words "Ten Year Celebration."
The only other detail so far, as spotted by MacRumors, is that the feature will be an activity challenge.
It's not known exactly what form this anniversary challenge will take, but then it's also not known when Apple counts the anniversary from. Apple Watch was launched on September 9, 2014, but it didn't ship until April 2015.
Since Apple is two months late to the launch anniversary, it would presumably be planning to run the activity challenge in April 2025. However, with the steady roll-out of Apple Intelligence across multiple iOS 18 updates, it seems early to be including one for April.
