Two more games announced at WWDC 2024 have finally landed on the Mac App Store.

At WWDC 2024, Apple announced a panoply of games set to come to macOS. Many of the games eventually made the leap, though it's taken a bit longer than some of us have expected.

This week, two of the announced games have finally landed on Mac. This includes Control Ultimate Edition and Wuthering Waves.

Control Ultimate Edition is a third-person action shooter where the player enters a mysterious building in New York that is the headquarters for the Federal Bureau of Control. The FBC handles supernatural objects and events, but it has been taken over by an unknown threat, putting the building into lockdown.

Upon entry, the player is designated the new director in charge of the facility, quickly gaining their own powers by interacting with special objects, such as a sentient gun and a murderous refrigerator. They are tasked with cleaning the mess and saving the organization from attack.

Control has seen critical acclaim, picking up over 80 awards since its first release in 2019 on Windows and other platforms. Players can download it from the Mac App Store for $39.99. It does not appear to be available for macOS on Steam at this time.

Wuthering Waves is a post-apocalyptic, open-world, action role-playing game with gacha elements. Players control Rover, the amnesia-stricken protagonist, as they embark on a journey to recover their memories.

Considering its origins as a mobile game, it shouldn't be surprising that Wuthering Waves is a freemium game. You can download it for free from the Mac App Store, but the developers essentially expect you to make repeat purchases of in-game currency.

Control Ultimate Edition collects no data from the user and has a price that's clear and upfront.

Wuthering Waves collects a lot of personal data from the user, including trackers, and its true price is hidden behind "In App Purchases."

Easy choice for me. I reward honesty.

Is the character in the Wuthering Waves  game named Cathy?

Also, “they”. Are we talking multiple personalities as well as amnesia?

He’s referring to the players as “they”.

Like most of these gachas, you choose the male or female version of the player character when you start. "They" would be correct since it is ambigous and up to the player to decide. However, in this case "they" refers to the player not the character... so you'd still be wrong even if you didn't read it incorrectly 😉
