Ben Stiller is taking a break from directing "Severance" to get back to his acting roots with "The Off Weeks," a drama about a divorced father dealing with managing split custody and a new love life.

Apple TV+ keeps pumping out popular dramas, with The Morning Show now renewed for season 5 and Severance doing well at the Emmys. Its next bet is a Ben Stiller vehicle that's a rare return to acting for the aging comedian.

According to a press release, The Off Weeks is a new drama starring Ben Stiller and Jessica Chastain. It'll be directed by Michael Showalter and showrun by Alissa Nutting.

The story follows recently divorced Gus Adler who has split custody of his kids. When the kids are visiting, he struggles to keep everything together during the "on weeks."

Gus' "off weeks" are something else entirely, as he falls dangerously in love with Stella West. The mysterious woman's arrival puts Gus' on-week duties and off-week ambitions on a fatal collision course.

The latest Apple TV+ show follows incredible success with Ben Stiller's Severance. He's also part of a documentary about his parents called Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost.

There's no mention of a release date, so it could be some time before a premiere. Apple updated its award record stating it has won 622 awards and has been nominated 2,816 times.
