A suspect is sought in a theft of many iPhones in Hong Kong, arrests have been made in both an Apple Store theft on Long Island, and the theft of a MacBook from Beyonce's team are in this week's Apple Crime Blotter.

Three charged in Apple product truck robbery
Federal prosecutors in Connecticut have charged three men in connection with the March 2025 armed robbery of a truck delivering Apple products to the Apple Store in South Windsor.
According to the Justice Department's announcement, the three men stole "$316,753 in Apple phones, tablets, and other accessories," as well as $1,000 in cash from the driver.
After that, per prosecutors, the men brought the product to New York and resold it.
The three defendants, all citizens of the Dominican Republic who reside in Massachusetts, used a vehicle rented from peer-to-peer service Turo. The owners later discovered "an Apple charging cable that appeared to be new."
The defendants were charged with conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act Robbery, Hobbs Act Robbery itself, and interstate transportation of stolen property. They were also charged for carrying, using, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.
Suspect sought in massive iPhone theft in Hong Kong
The manager of a telecom shop in Hong Kong is being sought by police, who believe he stole 200 iPhones worth nearly HK$2 million ($256,760).
The South China Morning Post reports the police became aware of the thefts after China Mobile noticed "irregularities" in the company's computer system.
Man charged in theft from Long Island Apple Store
In a much smaller Apple product theft, a 32-year-old man has been arrested for stealing two iPhone 15s from the Apple Store in Smith Haven Mall. In the process, police say, the man threatened workers with a hammer.
According to News 12 Long Island, the man stole the iPhones by cutting cables. He then made the hammer threat and fled.
Man arrested in theft of Beyonce's music, after MacBook was tracked
Back in July, a rental car being used by a member of pop superstar Beyonce's team was broken into in Atlanta. It led to theft of hard drives and laptops containing the singer's unreleased music, with a MacBook Air among the items.
Per Rolling Stone, an arrest has been made in the thefts, although the stolen materials have not been recovered.
The man has been charged with Entering Automobile or Other Motor Vehicle With Intent to Commit Theft or Felony.
Police in California seek man who used stolen credit card at Apple Store
Police in Irvine, Calif., are looking for a man who they say stole credit cards from a vehicle burglary, and later used one of the stolen cards for a $12,000 spending spree at the Apple Store.
Police were able to obtain very clear surveillance photos, which captured distinctive tattoos.
Arrest made in theft of iPads from Virginia school
A man has been arrested for stealing multiple iPads from an elementary school in Mecklenburg County, Va. According to WRIC, the thefts took place on September 2, while about a week later, a raid was conducted at the man's home.
He was charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny, although the devices have not been recovered.
Tracked AirPods lead to charges in Canadian car theft
A vehicle that was stolen in Ontario was recovered after the owner tracked a pair of AirPods left behind in it.
According to Barrie Today, the 2018 Mercedes-Benz MS6 was discovered in Bradford, with a man reportedly asleep in the driver's seat.
The 18-year-old accused thief was charged with motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen goods over $5,000, and failure to comply with a judicial release order.
iPad stolen from Del Taco in California
A 48-year-old woman from Victorville, Calif., was arrested and charged with stealing an iPad from a Del Taco location there, leading to a "struggle" with the victim of the theft.
Per VVNG, the thief took the iPad from the counter, leading to a confrontation with its owner. When the accused thief tried to flee, the struggle ensued, and the police arrived and arrested her. The woman was arrested on suspicion of robbery under PC 211 and booked at High Desert Detention Center.
Search for iPhone leads to cache of stolen electronics in Kenya
Police in Kenya who were tracking a stolen iPhone 15 followed it to an apartment, where they found a large stash of stolen electronics in Mihang'o, Kayole.
According to Nairobi Leo, the discovery took place in late August, and the items discovered included the original iPhone, as well as "321 assorted mobile phones, seven laptops, various mobile phone covers, laptop chargers, an LG music system, and two speakers."
