Apple's "new" iPad Pro Magic Keyboard may look familiar, but the real surprise is hiding in the iPad Air lineup.

On Wednesday, Apple announced the rollout of its new M5 iPad Pro. It boasts Wi-Fi 7 and the C1X modem in cellular models.

To celebrate, Apple has decided to expand its Magic Keyboard for iPad lineup — but maybe not in the way you'd expect.

Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 13-inch, now in black

While not exactly a new keyboard, Apple has updated the color lineup for the Magic Keyboard for the 13-inch iPad Air. Previously, it was only available in white, but now customers can snag one in black.

It'll run you $319 if you want to buy one outright, but you can finance it for $26.58 per month for twelve months. Apple Card users who finance will get 3% Daily Cash back.

Magic Keyboards for the M5 iPad Pro lineup

When you head to the online Apple Store, you'll notice that both the 11-inch and the 13-inch iPad Pro Magic Keyboards say they're for the M5 iPad Pro. However, this isn't quite what it seems.

A quick check of the compatibility section shows that the model is backward compatible with the M4. This suggests the only thing Apple has done is change the product title in its online store.

Additionally, comparing the M5 variant against 2024's M4 variant on the Wayback Machine shows strikingly similar ad copy. Apple has only removed the word "new" from the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro M5 for both.

Of course, Apple's also conspicuously left out the telltale orange "new" indicator on the store page.

If you're in the market to buy the Magic Keyboard for the 11-inch iPad Pro, you'll need to fork over $299. You can also finance it for $24.91 for twelve months.

You can pick up the Magic Keyboard for the 13-inch iPad Pro for $349.00, or if you'd rather finance, you can pay $29.08 for twelve months.

In both cases, Apple Card users will get the standard 3% Daily Cash back from purchasing directly from Apple.
