A new trailer for Vince Gilligan's "Pluribus" gives a first look at Rhea Seehorn's darkly comic turn on Apple TV, giving a glimpse into a world where happiness might be the real threat.
Apple has released a new trailer for Pluribus, the new drama from Vince Gilligan, creator of Breaking Bad and co-creator of Better Call Saul. The series will premiere globally on November 7, 2025, with its first two episodes, followed by weekly releases through December 26.
The nine-episode Apple Original reunites Gilligan with Rhea Seehorn, who earned two Emmy nominations for her role as Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul. The project marks Gilligan's first new series since closing the book on his crime universe, and it promises something even stranger.
Apple describes Pluribus as a "genre-bending original" about the most miserable person on Earth who must save the world from happiness. The premise suggests a darkly ironic take on heroism — less meth lab, more existential crisis.
Stacked cast & creative team
Seehorn leads the cast alongside Karolina Wydra from Sneaky Pete and Carlos-Manuel Vesga from The Hijacking of Flight 601. Guest stars include Miriam Shor of American Fiction and Samba Schutte of Our Flag Means Death.
Gilligan, the series' writer and director, serves as executive producer with long-time collaborators Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Diane Mercer, Allyce Ozarski, and Jeff Frost. Sony Pictures Television oversees an ambitious production that brings Gilligan's trusted team to deliver a bold, cinematic experience for Apple TV.
Apple's confidence in Gilligan
Apple TV gave Pluribus a two-season order upfront, a rare move that signals strong faith in Gilligan's storytelling. The streamer is betting that his mix of character-driven tension and dark humor can capture the same loyal following as his past hits.
It's also part of Apple's broader strategy of prestige programming. Since launching in November 2019, Apple TV has built its brand around awards and creator-led projects.
Its lineup now includes over 600 wins and nearly 3,000 nominations, including multi-Emmy winners Ted Lasso and The Studio, and the Oscar-winning CODA.
Vince Gilligan hasn't missed yet. Pluribus may be his strangest premise so far, but Apple's early confidence suggests it's more than a gimmick. Whether it can live up to the legacy of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul will be clear when it premieres on November 7.
Apple continues to push subscribers through its hardware ecosystem. Customers who buy a new iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV 4K still get three months of Apple TV free. The service is available on more than a billion screens, from Apple Vision Pro to smart TVs and gaming consoles.
