Long-standing game hardware company 8BitDo is heading for CES 2026, and has now teased that it will be showing a forthcoming flip-style iPhone controller.
The 8BitDo company has been making games controllers for the iPhone for years. Its newest one snaps onto the front of the phone in portrait orientation, and flips up to play.
Calling it the 8BitDo FlipPad, the company says that it is officially supported by Apple. There are no further details on price or a specific release date, but 8BitDo says it is coming for Summer 2026.

The FlipPad connects to iPhone or Android through the USB-C port. It flips up to cover roughly the same space that the iPhone's on-screen keyboard typically does.
Once flipped up, it offers a familar grey/black cross-like D-Pad, plus Start and Select buttons. There's also a set of red Nintendo- and Xbox-style ABXY controls, plus a series of customizable extra buttons.
