Smart home brand Aqara presented multiple firsts at CES 2026, including the first Matter thermostat with Apple Adaptive Temperature and the first smart lock with support for UWB Home Key.

At CES, Aqara had its usual slew of announcements for the first half of the year. Headlining the announcements are the U400 smart lock and W200 thermostat.

Two smart home firsts

The U400 smart lock looks like a standard smart lock with an exterior-facing keypad. What sets it apart is support for Ultra Wideband Home Key.

Ultra Wideband, or UWB, measures both the angle of your approach, as well as your distance to intelligently predict when you're walking toward the door. As you get near, it automatically authenticates and unlocks before you have a chance to touch the handle.

Eventually, it will be updated to support Aliro, the open standard developed by the Connectivity Standards Alliance. At launch, it will work exclusively with Apple Home Key.

Other methods of entry include NFC Home Key, NFC key fobs, passcode, fingerprint, or physical keys. Of course, Siri and other voice assistants can also control the smart lock.

It is available to order now for $269.99 on Amazon. It comes in both black or silver finishes.

The other first for Aqara is the W200 smart thermostat, that represents the first model to support Apple's Adaptive Temperature and Clean Energy Guidance features. These were first announced at WWDC 2025 with iOS 26.

It has a sleek, modern appearance with a large touch screen for control. You can easily change modes and adjust the temperature.

The lock also serves as a hub. Thread, Zigbee, and other smart home devices can be paired to the thermostat and exposed to Matter and Apple Home.

Adaptive Temperature uses the predictive locations on your iPhone to automatically adjust your house's temperature when you leave and when you arrive home to keep it comfortable and save your money.

It also integrates with Aqara's other products, such as its doorbell and just-announced lock. When someone rings the doorbell, it will show on the thermostat, and then you can unlock the door at the same time.

The W200 will be coming out in early 2026, and a price has yet to be announced, though it is expected to be competitive.

More smart home news

In other news, Aqara also announced the Multi-state sensor P100. This precision 9-axis sensor can be used to detect any number of actions in your home.

It is able to detect glass breaking, doors and windows opening, your washer or dryer turning on or off, knocks, tilts, and more. It has both Thread and Zigbee to connect directly or through a hub.

The Aqara G350 is a new camera that will be one of the first to support Matter 1.5. It has a 4K sensor and a 2.5K telephoto lens.

It also doubles as a Matter controller. Other Aqara cameras will work with Matter when paired with its upcoming hub.

Finally, there is the FP400. This new presence sensor is more spatially aware than the previous models and can detect multiple positions of multiple people in a room.

It doesn't need to be mounted on the ceiling but can be used for fall detection. It also can detect posture, such as if you were sitting at a desk too long during the day.

Pricing and availability for the G350, P100, and FP400 are forthcoming. The products will likely start shipping in short-term, rather than the long.
