Accessory maker Alogic has launched a 4K 32-inch touchscreen monitor, with a space to dock your M4 Mac mini.

At first blush, the Askpect Touch display, which sits atop an articulated arm, looks like most other 32-inch monitors. But it has some tricks up its sleeve, starting with the fact that it can be used in a whole new way.

Similar to Microsoft's Surface Studio, this display can be moved into the perfect position, whether you're drawing on its touchscreen display or watching a movie. And with support for 10-point multi-touch, the display supports tapping, pinching, and swiping.

Alogic says its display has 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity which makes it a solid option for everything from marking up documents to digital art creation.

The display itself is pretty standard 4K fare. It has a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 400-nit brightness paired with a 1000:1 contrast ratio. The 3840x2160 resolution works out to a pixel density of 137 pixels per inch, so not quite Retina quality. How much that matters is left as an exercise for the reader.

Creatives working with videos and images will note the 100% sRGB and 95% DCI-P3 color ratings.

In terms of connectivity, the monitor isn't short of a port or two. HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C are all supported for video. Data ports for connecting accessories include a pair of USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, a gigabit Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

It isn't all good news, though. Alogic doesn't say how fast any of those USB ports are, only that they offer power delivery ranging from 5W to 30W. That means they could be as slow as USB 2.0, which means 480Mbps, or as fast as USB4 with speeds of 40Gbps. Regardless, the lack of Thunderbolt ports is disappointing.

MacBook Air and MacBook Pro owners can charge their laptops via a 90-watt USB-C connection. Mac mini users can dock their machine beneath the display, creating as clean a setup as we've seen outside of an iMac. And, it looks cool.

As for pricing, the Aspekt Touch 32-inch monitor normally sells for around $2,050, but it's available for $1,844.99 currently direct from Alogic. You can also preorder the display at B&H Photo.

There are Silver and Space Gray options as well as gloss and matte finishes to choose from. Shipping dates on the model with the dock are not yet clear.
