Catherine O'Hara, known for her work in films such as "Home Alone" and "Beetlejuice," as well as series like "Schitt's Creek" and Apple TV's "The Studio," has passed away.
O'Hara, a prolific actor on screens both big and small, died on January 30. During her career, she acted in more than 50 films and more than 30 series.
She was widely known for her roles as family matriarch Kate McCallister in "Home Alone" and the dramatic, eccentric Moira Rose in "Schitt's Creek." Her penultimate role was in Apple TV comedy series "The Studio" as Patty Leigh — she also provided voice work for Apple TV's since-cancelled animated series "Central Park."
The cause of death is unknown at this time. Page Six reports the actress was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital in "serious" condition just before 5:00 am.
Her last public appearance was at the Apple TV Primetime Emmy Party on September 14, 2025. She had been nominated for the 2025 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
