Apple CEO Tim Cook signed off his last WWDC keynote in the role by calling it the "honor of a lifetime" to make a difference in the lives of users.

The WWDC 2026 keynote wasn't just the venue for Apple's operating system and developer announcements. It's also the last time that Tim Cook will front the event as Apple's CEO.

With it being the last major event before the CEO role transitions to John Ternus, Cook took a minute at the end of the keynote to give a "personal note."

He claims that some of his "greatest highlights" of being CEO were during events. Sharing new tools with developers and seeing what is made with them has been a "constant reminder that imagination has no limits."

Cook goes on to say that developers have helped people "experience the world in extraordinary new ways." There's still more experiences to come, he adds. "I truly believe the best is still ahead.

He then said the North Star of Apple was to create the best products and to "deliver experiences that enrich people's lives."

Concluding his note, he calls his tenure as CEO the "honor of a lifetime" to further that mission.

Tim Cook's full WWDC keynote closing comments follow below:

On a personal note, some of the greatest highlights of my time as CEO have been events like this. Sharing powerful new tools with all of you and then seeing what you create with them has been a constant reminder that imagination has no limits.

Over the years, you have helped people connect, create, learn, and experience the world in extraordinary new ways. And with the incredible capabilities we introduced today, and so many more still to come, I truly believe the best is still ahead.

At Apple, creating the best products in the world to deliver experiences that enrich people's lives has always been our North Star.

It's been the honor of a lifetime to help advance that mission with teams whose creativity, care, and conviction continue to make a lasting difference in people's lives.

Thank you all for joining us. Let's have a great WWDC!
