A finance professor nicknamed Wall Street's "dean of valuation" claimed on Monday that between Apple, Alphabet, Amazon, and Facebook, Apple is offering the best performance for investors.
"I think of the four big players: Apple, Alphabet, Facebook and Amazon, Apple is the best value play," New York University's Aswath Damodaran remarked on CNBC's "Squawk Alley."
"It is a cash machine. I never seen a company generate as much cash as Apple has over the last six or seven years."
Large technology firms are becoming increasingly monolithic in the business world, Damodaran added.
"I think they are pricing these companies for global domination. I think that these companies if you look at them on a year to year basis seem to get stronger as they get larger," he said.
Though it once teetered on the edge of bankruptcy, Apple is now one of the world's biggest corporations, with hundreds of billions in cash reserves and tens of billions in quarterly revenue. It has made it a point to keep shareholders happy through a program of buybacks and quarterly dividends, even as rumors and controversies cause stock prices to ebb and flow.
