Apple issues fifth developer betas of iOS 10.3.3 & macOS 10.12.6

Apple on Wednesday released fifth developer betas of iOS 10.3.3 and macOS 10.12.6, available as over-the-air updates or through the company's official developer portal.

Any changes have yet to be discovered. The fourth betas of 10.3.3 10.12.6 were released last week, however, and previous ones made no obvious tweaks apart from including extra wallpapers for 2017 iPad Pros.

That indicates that the updates are essentially maintenance work, fixing various bugs and security vulnerabilities.

The finished software could be Apple's last updates ahead of this fall's iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra, barring any unexpected issues. iOS 11 —which just entered its first public beta —will include things like a new Control Center, a Files app, person-to-person Apple Pay transfers, and a "Do Not Disturb While Driving" option. The biggest changes are coming to the iPad, such as a Mac-like dock and easier multitasking.

High Sierra will transition to the Apple File System, add support for standards like Metal 2 and H.265/HEVC, and upgrade apps like Mail, Safari, and Photos.
