Announced on Monday, the Art Directors Guild has revealed nominations for its 26th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards, which honors TV shows, films, music videos, commercials, and animated features. For 2022's awards, content from Apple TV+ appears five times on the list, out of eight nominations linked to Apple in general.

"The Tragedy of Macbeth" production designer Stefan Dechant is up for Period Feature Film, with it competing against "The French Dispatch," "Licorice Pizza," "Nightmare Alley," and "West Side Story," reports Deadline

On the TV side, the "Foundation" episode "The Emperor's Peace" earns production designer Rory Cheyne a nomination under the One-Hour Period or Fantasy Single-Camera Series category. For the One-Hour Contemporary Single-Camera Series counterpart, production designer Nelson Coates is up for "The Morning Show" for three episodes.

The Half-Hour Single-Camera Series category features two Apple TV+ nominations, with "Ted Lasso" production designer Paul Cripps taking on Bo Welch of "Schmigadoon!" for the honor.

Away from Apple TV+, Apple also has a trio of nominations in the Commercials category. Its "Saving Simon: Shot on iPhone 13 Pro" ad spot with production designer Chelsea Oliver is up against Dylan Kahn for "Introducing iPhone 13 Pro," as well as Francois Audouy for Apple Music's "Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever" used to promote Spatial Audio.

The nominations are the latest for Apple's streaming service, following after the Visual Effects Society's announcement on January 18. In that list, "Foundation" and "Macbeth" is joined by "Finch," "See," and "Lisey's Story."

A live in-person ceremony will be held at the InterContinental Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, March 5.

Schmigadoon!  Definitely!   It was the battle of two cultures -- and both came out ahead.  It was corny and it took guts to go down that road -- but they pulled it off very well.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure if anybody who didn't live through the 50's could appreciate it.
